Graph 4.2 for PC. If you're creating graphs for worksheets try Graph 4.2. It is a first rate, free, open source application used to draw mathematical graphs in a coordinate system. It is perfect for creating worksheets, lecture notes and presentations and outperforms the cost based programs that compete with it. The program supports a wide variety of math functions ( sin, cos, log, etc. to name a few) as well as parametric equations which allow the graphing conic sections. The best part is the flexibility in creating the exact scale and grid design you're looking for. Exporting is very versitile (jpeg, pdf, bmp, metafile or OLE object) and easy. You can specify color, width and line style of the graphs, as well as intervals. http://padowan.dk/graph/
Example:
Grapher (for Mac) - Grapher is an application ( like Graph 4.2 above) for creating graphs of equations which can then be pasted into a word processor. It feels similar to a TI graphing calculator interms of what it can graph except that the output can be scaled and cut and the image clarity is very good. The program comes free with the Macintosh operating systems. PC users are out of luck. The program is not easy to find on the Mac OS. Try looking in /Applications/Utilities.
Graph Paper Maker - This free software program created by Phillipe Marquis allows the user to make custom graph paper and either print them out or easily paste a custome graph grid into another document. Using version (4.21) you can adjust:
There are several places to download this free software on the web if you search for "Phillipe Marquis Graph Paper" . One source is : http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/gpaper421.html

LaTeX Document Preparation Software For Math: LaTeX is a scientific document preparation system for high-quality typesetting especially useful for complex math formulas. Many teachers are accustomed to writing worksheets in MSWord and inserting MS Equation boxes as they write formulas. LaTeX allows the text and the formulas to be written side by side and without the use of dropdown menus to create each formula. However LaTeX is not a word processor, meaning you can't select font in Arial, size 32, bold within the program like you can in MSWord. LaTeX is free but involves a learning curve.
