Homework Help: Hotmath.com - This is the best value if your textbook is supported on their site. Hotmath.com provides solutions to homework problems directly from the student's textbooks. The site is very easy to navigate. Just click a picture of your textbook, then select the page number of your homework assignment. The site doesn't give the answer in one click. The student is asked to read the problem in their book then click to get hints as they solve the problem themselves. The complete solution is given after several button selections. A sample of homework problems can be viewed for free. The cost is $50 for a year long subscription or $30 for 2 months. Some schools have purchased a site license which may allow student to use the service for free.
Algebra 1 and 2 Lesson Explanations: Purplemath.com – Exceptional online lessons that explain basic, intermediate and advanced Algebra in an engaging way. Purple math is a visually pleasing website to navigate. The Lesson Index is a real gem. Concepts are explained in a conversational yet thorough way. No distracting animation is used in the explanation of concepts. Topics are organized alphabetically which can be a little tricky to navigate if you're already having difficulty with the math. Freemathhelp.com - Does a great job with their Algebra and Geoemetry video lessons which shows the content of a math lesson with the voice of the instructor to guide but not distract. Their videos are very professional and effective because they use an electronic chalkboard program to lecture, highlight and show examples. While there are many useful videos, the free videos are not comprehensive for Pre-Algebra, Algebra or Algebra 2. Enjoy what they have!
